The Welder Control Project presented unique technical challenges due to the vintage nature of the hardware involved.

Key Technical Challenges:

1. Legacy Hardware: The original controller used ISA bus cards from the 1990s, requiring specialized knowledge and equipment.

2. Driver Compatibility: Modern operating systems do not support legacy ISA cards, limiting virtualization options.

3. Hardware Failure: The original system experienced HDD failure, requiring data recovery from backup.

4. Incomplete Specifications: Tom never provided the complete technical specifications from MTI needed for full virtualization.

Work Performed:
